"UNINSURABLE" IS A MYTH
The Power of the Class 2 Pool
Many veterans walk away from life insurance because they believe their VA disability rating or medical history makes them “uninsurable.” At Blue Crab Insurance Agency, we know that isn’t true. Federal law specifically created the Class 2 Conversion Pool for you.
How Guaranteed Acceptance Works
For most service members, the “Conversion Privilege” expires exactly 120 days after discharge. This is a hard deadline. Once passed, you are no longer eligible for the “Class 2” conversion pool—meaning you must undergo full medical underwriting and risk being denied for service-connected conditions like PTSD or TBI.
The Expert Approach: The Dual-Application Procedure
To get you the best possible deal, we utilize a Dual-Application Procedure:
-
Regular Application: We first apply for standard civilian insurance. If you are healthy enough for “Standard” rates, we secure that policy for you to save you money.
-
Conversion Application: If your medical history leads to a “substandard” rating or denial, we immediately pivot to the Conversion Application.
-
The Result: Because you applied within your conversion window, the company must issue the policy at standard rates, regardless of your health, by ceding the risk to the OSGLI Pool.
You Are Insurable – Even With A Disability
At Blue Crab Insurance Agency, we specialize in navigating the Dual-Application Procedure, acting as your advocate to secure the standard-rate coverage you are legally entitled to receive. You’ve already done the hard work of serving our country—let us handle the technical complexities of the OSGLI approval process so you can move into your civilian future with total peace of mind.
